I got a 94% on my first test this week! It was in New Testament Survey. This is good for three reasons:
1. It is in keeping with my 3.5 GPA goal for the semester
2. You either Aced this test, or you failed this test.
3. This is supposed to be the hardest test for this class all semester, so all subsequent tests should be significantly easier to excel at.

I also got a 25/25 on my vocabulary quiz for GREEK (which was a lot easier than anticipated). This greek stuff isn’t as hard as everybody says it is. …Although this will probably be the only semester that I will ever take it [deep sigh of relief].

So this is how God answers prayers: I really, REALLY miss being involved with the youth on Sunday nights back home, so I have been praying for a ministry opportunity to come up. I asked a professor about opportunities in nearby churches, and he gave me some information on a church about 10 miles south of here. I emailed the contact at the church and didn’t get any response. So I prayed a little more.

Within two days I had three separate opportunities come to me. I didn’t even have to make a very proactive stance about it.

The first came to me while I was about to scrub the toilets for the first floor men’s dorm bathroom. Tyler Marler asks me if I want to do a split ministry for a church in the area where we are from. We decide to pray about it, and come together later for it.

Second came a student named Ashton who said that he needed a guy for a month-long focus on purity at the church that he is the Youth Minister at. The way he approached me was neat, because he just kinda’ walked up to my room and said that he’s seen me around campus, and thinks that I’m silly enough for the Junior High kids, and mature enough for the serious times. I would be a Junior High Guy leader, and I would have to be a part of a drama, and small-group thing every Sunday night for the month of February.

Lastly came a Wednesday night service leader from a friend here named Juliana. I actually had to decline this one because I wouldn’t have the time to clean the bathrooms here in the dorms and make it to the city where it’s going on.

So all of that is pretty exciting.
