I haven’t had the opportunity to write in a little while because classes have really picked up, and I don’t want to fall behind.
Our orientation thing was…unique…that’s putting it nicely. We had to take three separate tests, each having more than 130 questions on them. The whole orientation day went from 8:00am – 8:00pm. At the end of the day, we were pretty tired. Anyway...
I’m taking a Restoration history class right now, and it’s my favorite. So far the book we’re reading is REALLY good. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about how our current church was set up, and how hard it was to set it up this way.
Here it is:
“Union in Truth” by James B. North Published by Standard Publishing (Cincinnati, Ohio).
This book is explaining a lot of my questions about denominations, and why they exist. The “denomination” that I currently subscribe to was originally set out to UNITE other denominations. The fathers of this movement worked as hard as they could to form unity among their surrounding denominations. I’ve still got a lot more to read, and learn…so I’m not that great on the subject just yet.
